Our nervous system is the control center of our body- every organ can be compelled by nervous system messages. The nervous system is largely responsible for how awake, motivated, focused, excited, or calm we feel. It can be frustrating to feel “stuck” in certain emotions (like agitation or panic); however, once you understand how to strike a balance so you feel present and focused throughout your day, you will find incredible autonomy. The good news is that we have a tremendous ability to regulate our nervous system with simple, accessible tools – scroll to see many different methods I use and love.
This is a very basic explanation, with a focus on the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)- there’s certainly a lot more to it! However, I believe a fundamental understanding of how the body functions allows us to have much greater appreciation and respect towards our bodies.
