I tell my clients this all the time…eloquent, I know! 😉I work with a lot of people that have been ill for a long time. Even if they haven’t, it’s incredibly discouraging when you don’t feel good and don’t feel like you’re making progress.
Remind yourself that symptoms are your body’s way of communicating a need. Headaches, fatigue, food intolerances, gastrointestinal dysfunction…they all provide excellent insight on how we can support your body.
Similarly, cravings serve a physiological purpose. Ex: craving sour/acidic foods can be a sign of low stomach acid. Cravings for chocolate can be a sign you need Magnesium or B-vitamins.
If you feel like you can’t stop eating or lack control around food, it’s most likely a sign of under-nourishment…either under-eating or not eating the right food for your body.
So, how do you build trust in a body you’re frustrated with? Learn to understand what is happening and why.
Also, pay attention to your internal dialogue. It’s hard to progress if you’re constantly sabotaging yourself with self-hate and fear. Swipe for some affirmation ideas!
Utilizing affirmations does not mean you force yourself to always “think positive.” They’re simply helping you to create a more hopeful, compassionate dialogue about your wellbeing.
Your body isn’t stupid!
