Lately, we’ve been to Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and of course reside in Colorado…all of which are dealing with horrendous smoke and air pollution due to the fires in California and Oregon. Over the past several years since living in CO and dealing with wildfires, I’ve experienced increased migraines when the air is so heavy with smoke. So, I wanted to share some of the ways I support my body. These are the supplements that I take- please consult your own practitioner for specific recommendations.
In essence, we want to specifically support our lungs, liver and reduce inflammation. Many foods and herbs provide support in this area!
Foods + herbs:
Consume plentiful Vitamin A and C rich foods: citrus, strawberries, mango, pineapple, kiwi, guava, bell peppers, eggs, chicken, beef
Other: garlic, ginger, turmeric, rosemary, thyme
Supplements:
Whole-food Vitamin C (either Pure Synergy or North American Herb & Spice) – antioxidants, reduce oxidative stress, fantastic for liver support
@leefyorganics – a ginger, turmeric blend. Fantastic for inflammation reduction, pain mitigation, allergies, etc
*The two supplements below are by @cellcorebiosciences
TUDCA – provides liver and gallbladder support by stimulating the release of and movement of bile
HM-ET – stands for Heavy Metal-Environmental Toxins. This is a bio-active carbon binder that chelates heavy metals and environmental toxins…it’s in the name! 😉
Additional:
-If you can, it’s incredibly beneficial to have an air filter with HEPA filters, like @airdoctorpro. I’ve had mine for many years, but it’s been particularly helpful during wildfire seasons.
